INTRODUCTION

Some travel along a long narrow road.

Some take the time to search high above mountains and low in the valley.

Some search their hearts trying to find where they are supposed to be and how they are to arrive at wherever they believe is the place of triumph.

One day, they, in their own time, will discover that this [life] is a journey traveled not for the sake of doing only for ourselves, but more so for others.

When doors open, we should realize that along this journey, life's lessons have taught and prepared our hearts both to welcome opportunities and to serve as catalyst to help others do the same.

- Rev. Phyllicia M. Hatton

Pause and ask these questions -- Have I allowed worldly people to influence and destroy my spiritual and moral fabric? Has my life been diminished due to the voracity of my heart? Am I doing enough to reach out to others in need?

Join us as we reach out to those in need . . .

I am a Child of God and I am Worth It!

Achieving Better Health and Wellness - Hannah's Grace, Inc. will plan, coordinate and produce fund raisers geared toward developing critical funds to support health related research efforts. Each year, a predetermined amount will be contributed to organizations such as the Diabetes Association, the Cancer Institute, The Heart Association and other children's, women's and men's health organizations, in an effort to support these specific causes. Education and awareness sessions will present speakers versed in these and other health related matters. The educational sessions will benefit the attendee as it is the intention not only to inform but is anticipated to help individuals focus and transition their thinking to acquire improved lifestyles.

  Life Skills for Young Adults

With an emphasis placed on foster children, Hannah's Grace will develop educational and life-skill opportunities and embrace young adult men and women who may not have had the benefit of a nurturing loving and stable environment during their formative years. Hands on sessions will cultivate a strong Christian base and will allow the participant the opportunity to explore new adventures that God may offer to them.

  "Women Developing Spiritual  Communities"™

A self contained ministry, Hannah's Grace will establish continuing education programs that will provide timely information for ministers, pastors, and lay ministers. The programs will be designed in a classroom setting to encourage engagement within the greater community. The intention is to furnish attendees with necessary information that will equip them to interface with credentialed professional instructors leading to the essential work in and outside of the church. Hands on workshop sessions will cultivate progressive thinking and will allow the participant the opportunity to explore new and innovative ways to approach a community issue.

  Were You Aware:

Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease,
and Cancer can be prevented!

  • 3.7 million; 14.7 percent of all non-Hispanic blacks ages twenty and older have diagnosed and undiagnosed diabetes
  • Type 2 diabetes accounts for about 90 to 95 percent of all diagnosed cases of diabetes.
  • Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for people with diabetes – about two out of three people with diabetes die of heart disease or stroke.
  • Adults with diabetes have heart disease death rates about two to four times higher than adults without diabetes.
  • The risk for stoke is two to four times higher among people with diabetes.

Foster Care Trends

The median amount of time children spent in foster care increased between FY 2000 (12.0 months) and FY 2008 (13.3 months). When broken down, it becomes apparent that fewer children were in foster care less than 1 month or longer that 3 years and more children were in foster care from 1 month to 35 months in FY 2008, compared to FY 2000. Children can enter foster care at any age, from infancy up to age 18 years, and most exit by the time they are 18 years old.
